Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (150 grams) date puree
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons (10 milliliters) ground ginger
  • 1 cup (90 grams) graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup (50 grams) quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup (60 grams) shelled sunflower seeds or nuts of your choice
  • 1/4 cup (50 grams) 70% cocoa content dark chocolate chips or chunks, plus extra for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients from the orange section.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat—otherwise, everything will stick.
  4. Using a spoon spread the mixture onto the baking sheet. Don’t be afraid to firmly press it down onto the baking sheet so the bars hold together.
  5. Decorate with additional dark chocolate chips for an elegant touch.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes. OMG! It smells so good!
  7. Let cool before cutting into squares.
