"My Grandma makes the best pie dough but we cheat and buy pre-made pie dough in rolls.  I love using the pre-made dough because I don’t like having time to knead dough for hours to accomplish pretty much the same thing." - Kortney Wilson

Ingredients

DOUGH

  • Premade pie dough
  • Flour for dusting work surface

BROWN SUGAR

  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/3 - 1/2 cup brown sugar.

ICING

  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream, plus more as needed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Sprinkle clean work surface with flour
  2. Roll out the dough so it about doubles the size of the pie dough
  3. Add more flour if necessary so it doesn’t stick
  4. Butter the entire thing using a spatula or a knife.
  5. Use soft butter, not hard.  Room temp works best.
  6. Sprinkle tons of cinnamon over the butter
  7. And then I sprinkle a bunch of brown sugar over it as well.
  8. Roll it up into one really long roll and then cut it into a bunch of pieces.
  9. Bake at 300-350 degrees (depending on how thin the crust is and bake for about 20-30 minutes.
ICING
  1. While the rolls bake, combine the ingredients for the frosting in a medium bowl. Cover and reserve at room temperature.
  2. When the rolls are baked, let them cool for 10 to 15 minutes, then spread or drizzle the icing on top. Serve warm.
  3. They are so delicious and the kids can even participate since you can't mess up this recipe.
