Sugar-free cranberry sauce

This is a perfect compliment to a low-carb holiday meal.

This recipe is from Slimming Meals That Heal. Permission has been granted by Penguin Random House Canada

  • 2 cups (215 grams) fresh cranberries, rinsed
  • 30-40 drops stevia liquid (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp ground chia seeds

  1. Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat and add the cranberries and water.
  2. The cranberries will burst and this should take about eight minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, and stir in the chia seeds and liquid stevia.
  4. Transfer mixture to a serving bowl or mason jar. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Makes two cups (500 millilitres).
