Sascha's winning beef chili

Sascha is the Manager of Housing Programs at 360°kids, and is here with a deliciously hearty chili.

Ingredients

  • 900 grams of lean ground beef
  • 455 grams of bacon finely chopped
  • 5 cloves of pressed garlic
  • 2 red onions finely chopped
  • 2 bell peppers finely chopped
  • 2 jalapenos deseeded and finely chopped
  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and patted dry
  • 1 can whole kernel corn, drained
  • 2 packets of taco seasoning
  • 4 tablespoons of cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garnished with a sprinkle of cheddar cheese and tortilla chips

Directions

1. Add bacon, onions, garlic, jalapeños, salt and pepper into a pot and cook until the bacon is beginning to brown.
2. Add in ground beef and continue to stir.
3. When beef is browned add taco seasoning and cinnamon to pot. Stir until everything is evenly coated in spice.
4. Add in peppers, corn, beans, and tomato sauce. Cook down to a thick consistency. (Add in maple syrup.)
5. Add more salt, pepper and cinnamon to your liking.
6. Garnish with a sprinkle of cheddar cheese and tortilla chips.
