Rustic tuna melts

Ingredients

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon grainy mustard
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • ½ small onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons capers, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 6-ounce cans chunk tuna, drained
  • Salt
  • 4 thick slices crusty sourdough bread
  • 4 ounces old cheddar, grated

Directions

  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Combine mayonnaise, grainy mustard, celery, onion, capers, and pepper to a bowl. Add tuna and stir to combine. Season with salt. Place sourdough bread slices on baking sheet and top each slice with tuna mixture. Sprinkle grated cheddar over each piece.
  3. Broil for 2-4 minutes or until cheese is melted and slightly browned.
