Lemony lime BBQ margarita

Ingredients

  • Juice of 2 limes
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup
  • 45 milliliters (1.5 ounce) tequila
  • 1 teaspoon cherry bbq sauce
  • Salt and steak rub for riming
  • Lime wedges for garnish

Cherry BBQ sauce:

  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 3/4 cup cherry jam
  • 1/4 cup dark molasses
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons green sriracha
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon
  • 1 tablespoon dehydrated minced onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke

Directions

  1. To a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add lemon and lime juice, simple syrup, tequila and bbq sauce. Shake vigorously for a minute or so.
  2. Rim a cocktail glass with a mixture of the salt and steak rub. Fill the glass with ice and pour margarita over ice. Enjoy!

Cherry BBQ sauce:

  1. Add all ingredients to a small pot, mix well and bring to a boil. Simmer for a few minutes.
