Hot herbal lemon drop

This is super delicious and can be a reasonable stand in for cough and cold drinks. 



  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (it’s about the juice of 3 juicy lemons)
  • 2 tablespoons good quality honey
  • 1 rosemary spring cut in two
  • 60 milliliters Montenegro amaro liqueur


  1. In a sauce pan, simmer over low heat: water, lemon juice, honey and half a rosemary twig. Let this go for about 20 minutes to get some of the nice herbal notes out of the rosemary. In the meantime, warm a mug with hot water. Dump the water out and add Montenegro to the warmed mug. Strain the hot lemon mixture into a heated mug and garnish with fresh rosemary.
