SERVES
2

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Macintosh apples (about 6 medium sized), peeled, cored and chopped
  • ½ cup water
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Pinch of sea salt

Directions

  1. In a medium pot bring apples, water, lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar and salt to a boil, then lower to a simmer, stirring often, until apples are cooked and start falling apart (about 15 minutes). Blitz in the pot with an immersion blender until the desired consistency is achieved. Serve with latkes.
