  • 2 small tomatoes on the vine
  • 2 limes
  • 3 cups Caesar mix*
  • 3–4 teaspoons prepared horseradish
  • 10 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 8–10 dashes hot sauce
  • 118-177 milliliters (4 to 6 ounces) vodka or gin, optional
  • Montreal steak spice, for the rim
  • Ice cubes
  • Garnishes such as grilled lime wedges, pickles, olives, crispy grilled bacon, celery, etc

  1. Preheat your grill to high and cut the tomato and lime in half. When the grill is hot, place the tomato and limes onto the grate and grill, turning occasionally, until well charred, about three to five minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, combine the Caesar mix, prepared horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and vodka or gin, if using, in your blender. Add the grilled tomatoes into the blender as well as the juice from 1 1/2 limes and blend until smooth.
  3. Juice the remaining lime onto a shallow dish and scatter Montreal steak spice onto another shallow dish. Dip the rim of four glasses into the lime juice then into the steak spice. Fill each glass with ice then pour over the cocktail and garnish with your favourites.

*Use whatever Caesar mix you like – just as long as it’s a tomato based juice with some clam in there, you’ll be good to go!
