Golden ginger smoothie

Over the years, we’ve tried making smoothies with kale, spirulina, nuts, and other nourishing ingredients that, unfortunately, don’t always make the most appetizing-looking smoothie. But this smoothie wins the day with a bright, uplifting colour (thanks to the turmeric, which studies show can prevent cancer cells from growing). We feel happier just looking at it. And the tropical flavours of mango and banana are all you’ll taste; you won’t even know the turmeric is there.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups unsweetened dairy- free milk
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen mango
  • ½ banana, peeled
  • 2 tablespoon hemp seeds
  • 1 tablespoon virgin coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon minced peeled ginger root
  • Pinch of pepper

Extra Boost

  • 1 tablespoon vegan protein powder

Directions

  1. Add ingredients and blend together.
