Garlic and Parmesan bread

  • 2 baguettes, sliced down the middle lengthwise
  • 115 grams unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 4 large cloves garlic, peeled
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons (30 milliliters) dried parsley
  • 1/2 cup (120 milliliters) Parmesan cheese, grated


  • Pre-heat oven to 425F (220C).
  • Grate the garlic cloves on a micro-plane, or a fine cheese grater.
  • Place garlic pulp in a mixing bowl.
  • Add butter, salt and pepper, and mix until properly combined.
  • Spread garlic butter over the inside part of the baguette halves.
  • Place bread on a baking tray, butter side up.
  • Sprinkle dried parsley over the butter, and top with grated Parmesan.
  • Place garlic bread in the oven and cook for five to six minutes, or until butter and cheese is nicely melted, and the edges of the bread is golden brown.
  • Remove from oven, cut into portion size pieces, and serve hot.
