Berry and basil lemonade

Ingredients

  • 10 cups of water
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 2 cups mixed berries, I like blueberries, strawberries and raspberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 ½ cups freshly squeezed lemon juice

GARNISH

  • 1 large lemon cut into slices
  • 1 cup of strawberries halved
  • 8-10 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cups of ice cubes

Directions

  1. In a small pot combine one cup of water and the honey. Warm together until the honey has dissolved. Set aside and cool to room temperature.
  2. In a blender purée the berries. Add in the lemon juice and the water and honey mixture. Then pass the whole mixture through a fine strainer.
  3. In a large jar, place the lemons, strawberries, basil leaves and ice cubes. Pour the strained mixture over top, serve cold and enjoy!
