Apple ginger snap sundae

  • 4 Macintosh apples
  • 3 tablespoons (45 milliliters) butter
  • 1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons (30 milliliters) brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) vanilla extract
  • 4 generous scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 4 ginger snap cookies


  1. Core and dice the apples.
  2. Heat butter over low heat in a small saucepan. Add apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Cook until apples are soft.
  3. Distribute the apple mixture evenly into the bottom of four serving bowls. Place one scoop of ice cream on top of the apple mixture in each serving bowl. Crumble one ginger snap over the top of each sundae.
  4. Serve immediately.
