Apple cabbage slaw

A creative take on the classic side dish that uses apples.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoon finely chopped chives
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced celery, plus leaves
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, cut into matchsticks
  • 1/4 head red cabbage, thinly shredded

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the vinegar, sugar, salt, celery seeds, and black pepper. Add in the chives, celery, apple, and cabbage and toss to combine. Allow the slaw to sit for at least 20 minutes before serving.
